“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
― Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles“
Are you playing small? How are you going to make your light shine and step into your own brilliance?

Hi Heather!
That is one thing that stood out in this post is we often play small. In the game of life, we need to play bigger. Thank you for the reminder!
Nate: I agree, we do often play small. I was coaching a client today to play a bigger game. The best part of what I do is seeing a client become aware of how big they can play. It’s very cool, back with the same client tomorrow to map the steps to playing bigger.
Thanks for stopping by.
Heather,
Thanks for sharing and providing this great motivation today 🙂
Jason – thanks for commenting. It is a great motivation poem.
Very true. There is nothing inspiring about playing small. Thanks for the reminder. I needed that today.
Joyce – you are welcome. 🙂
Heather, that is one of my favorite quotes. I know I should be playing bigger, yet …… Thanks for the post reminder.
Rochelle – I love the information you share on your blog – that is a great step to playing bigger and yet… I agree most of can play bigger. I know I can.
Those are some great inspirational quotes! Happy Monday!
Thank you. Happy Monday to you too!
I love this. In fact my daughter a few years ago used the first few lines of this quote on her graduation announcements.
It is a wonderful poem. It is often mistakenly attributed to Nelson Mandela which is how I stumbled on it again. It is a great quote for graduation.
