Today is Five Minute Friday Blog Challenge started by Lisa-Jo Baker. Every Friday she’s post a topic then hundreds of people blog for five minutes on the topic and support each other. It is a fun way to end the week.
Reflect – This is a timely word. My post yesterday Taking Stock of 2013 is all about reflecting on what you’ve accomplished in your business in the last year. It is about being honest with yourself about your business; the good, the bad and the ugly, and using that information to set the direction for 2014.
I believe that entrepreneurs/business owners need to step away from the “doing” part of their business several times a year and reflect on the bigger picture. When we are “head down” and work hard “in” and “on” our business it can be easy to lose focus of the big picture. I recommend to my clients that they schedule an block of time to do this quarterly. It is as important as any client meeting and it is the time where you sit and think about what has happened over the last 3 months, determine what you need to change and adjust your goals accordingly.
How do you reflect on your business? How often do you step away from the day to day and look at the bigger?
