Monday Morning Moment: Begin Doing

By Heather Cameron 8 Comments

walt disney

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. – Walt Disney.

Great words of wisdom! We all have dreams and ideas but the real difference between successful entrepreneurs and those who fail is that they commit to action. They have an idea, a dream, and then commit to making it happen. ย From a mouse to an empire! When you think about what Walt Disney accomplished it is truly inspirational.

I know for myself I’ve been sitting on a fence with regard to a product launch schedule. It’s going to be a great product, all feedback I’ve received support that. I’ve been stuck in the “make it perfect” mindset and it is time to commit. I need to start the doing and stop the thinking and talking and there is nothing like committing to action in your blog. ๐Ÿ™‚

What have you been talking about doing but haven’t yet started the work to get it done? What have you been putting off committing to?

Amar: Great, I’m glad it inspired you. I love using Walt Disney as an example because people wouldn’t never have believed what he was able to create starting with a cartoon on a mouse. To me is a message to look beyond the average. Thank you for posting.

Such a good question for me, Heather. I finally committed to finish and get published a Kindle book I have been working on for a while by doing a Kindle book challenge during this month. I even stopped blogging to have more time. Alas, although I “should” be spending more time on it, I am not, have not, or cannot. Last night I told myself to go easy on myself and to stop “shoulding.” I am doing the best that I can right now.

    Thanks for this post.

Rochelle: I can so relate. It isn’t a Kindle book, it a program launch for me. A series of blog post on why we don’t do the 1 thing we know we should be doing. Any answers?

I have known since early November that I would need to find a new job, and I kept hoping the situation would change. Now I really have to put my nose to the grind and find a new one because these new hours are terrible!

Diane: We often know what we need to do but it hard to start. Just look what Walt Disney did but starting. A lesson for me too.

For a strange reason, I love reading about Mondays, because there is something to learn from these Monday posts.. people relax on Sundays and then be awesomely ambitious on Mondays and that reflects on the blog posts

Amritt – Thank you for your comment. I love the fact that people do relax on Sunday as it does let us to recharge ourselves for the next week.
