“Beyond the fog lies clarity” – Anonymous
The idea of “fog” came to me because several events at the Sochi Winter Olympics were delayed or cancelled today due to fog. I can only image how stressful this is on an athlete mentally. They put everything into getting ready for their event and now they have to wait.
Fog happens, it is something that can’t be control and it only clears when the conditions are right. When the flog lifts everything become clear.
As a business owner when has”fog” happened in your in business, when your next steps seemed a bit hazy? How did you manage it? What advice would you give someone else about handling the “fog”?

YES, YES, YES…
FOG Happens.
When does it happen? Often, for me, it was when the absolute clarity of my vision for me, for my business, was placed in question. Often by others who claimed to have ‘my best interests at heart’.
How did I overcome it? By taking the advice of luminaries such as Carnegie, Hill and Wattles. WRITE DOWN my own clear concise mental picture. Communicate my mental picture to a trusted Master Mind Group of people who had demonstrated clarity and a sense of purpose. And finally, accept FOG as part of the weather pattern and when it arises, get out my own directional indicator, take a deep breath and sing
“I can see clearly now the rain has gone, I can see all obstacles in my way”

Great post. I have moments of fog and find that stepping out and away from what I’m doing is the only way to sort it out.

Hi Heather,
Fog to me is nothing more than a bump in the road. If I see a bump in the road, I’ll go around it, so in this case, having a moment of fog is doing whatever you can do to get past it. It may not be the most fun, but once you pass the fog or wait for the fog clears is when it does become fun. Great post and love the quote!

That’s a really great way to see obstacles. Because no matter what, the fog will eventually fade away. You just need to be patient. I was having a difficult time with my business at the beginning. Mostly because I was very shy. But after a while of doing events, I started to get better at talking in front of people.

Marielle – Thanks for sharing your own experience. It is important to get out and staring meeting people. It helps you cement your message, it leads confidence and new business.

When I have a moment of fog, I get out of my rut. I go for a walk, or do something active. Have a home business it is all about focus and knowing what you want. I always ask, who am I going to help today?

Great idea Katrina – Getting our body moving and getting the “juices flowing” can really help clear the “fog” in our brains. I love the question too. It re-frames the fog is something positive.
Thank you for sharing.
